About Us

Empowering Communities • Restoring Nature • Inspiring Resilience

 Who We Are

Northern Environmental Solution Organization (NESO) is a community-based, non-profit organization rooted in the arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) of Northern Kenya.

Founded by passionate local changemakers, NESO exists to bridge the gap between environmental conservation, community empowerment, and sustainable development.

We believe that when people understand their environment — and are equipped to protect it — they create a resilient future for themselves and generations to come.

 Our Vision

A green, peaceful, and resilient Northern Kenya where communities live in harmony with nature.

Our Mission

To empower local communities through environmental restoration, sustainable livelihoods, and innovation — ensuring inclusive growth, ecological balance, and climate resilience.

 Our Core Values

  • Community Ownership: Local people leading local solutions.
  • Integrity: Transparency and accountability in every action.
  • Innovation: Harnessing technology and indigenous wisdom.
  • Resilience: Turning environmental challenges into opportunities.
  • Sustainability: Creating long-term impact, not quick fixes.
  • Equity: Inclusive participation of youth, women, and marginalized groups.

🧭 Our Approach

NESO blends traditional knowledge with modern solutions — connecting communities, technology, and nature.

We focus on community participation, education, and innovation to build climate-smart systems that work in Northern Kenya’s harsh environments.

Our projects range from ecosystem restoration and green energy adoption to youth empowerment, education access, and wildlife conservation.

🤝 Partnerships and Collaboration

NESO works with local communities, schools, government agencies, NGOs, and global partners to amplify impact.

We welcome partnerships with those who share our vision of a greener and just world.
